Deal Studio for Zoom

Contents
This guide covers the Deal Studio Suite app for Zoom: what it does, how to add it, how to use it, and how to remove it. If you get stuck at any point, the troubleshooting section below covers the messages you might see, and you can always write to support@deal-studio.com.
What it does
Deal Studio Suite connects your own Zoom account to Broker Ops, your workspace in Deal Studio. Once it is connected:
- Every meeting you set and every time a client books gets its own Zoom link, made on your Zoom.
- When a meeting moves or is cancelled, the meeting and its Zoom link stay in step.
Each broker connects their own Zoom. Your Zoom is never shared with your brokerage, and Deal Studio staff never connect to it.
Before you start
You need:
- A Deal Studio account with access to Broker Ops.
- A Zoom account you host meetings on.
Add the app
- Open Connections. In Broker Ops, go to Settings, then Connections.
- Find Zoom. In the Zoom section, click Connect Zoom.
- Read and accept. A Connect Zoom screen explains what Deal Studio does with your Zoom. When you are happy with it, click I agree and connect Zoom.
- Sign in to Zoom. Sign in with the Zoom account you host meetings on. The sign-in is run by Nylas, the connection service Deal Studio uses, so you may see its name.
- Approve. Zoom shows the permissions Deal Studio Suite asks for, listed below. Click Allow.
- You are connected. You land back in Connections with the message "Connected. Zoom meetings now get their link made on your Zoom." The Zoom row now shows your Zoom email.
If anything along the way does not work, see Troubleshooting.
Use it
Zoom links on your meetings
In Broker Ops, go to Settings, then Meetings, then Event types. Open a meeting type, or make a new one, and set Where to Zoom. Zoom is the default for new meeting types. Leave Your own meeting link empty and a fresh Zoom link is made for each meeting.
Booking pages
When a client picks a time on your booking page, the page tells them the meeting is on Zoom and that the link comes with their confirmation. The meeting goes on your calendar with its Zoom link, and the confirmation your client receives carries the same link.
Moves and cancellations
When you or your client move a meeting, the new time is kept with the same Zoom link and your client hears about the change. When a meeting is cancelled, it comes off your calendar and the Zoom link is no longer used.
Permissions we ask for and why
| Permission | What we use it for |
|---|---|
meeting:write:meeting | Make the Zoom meeting and its link when you set a meeting or a client books a time. |
meeting:update:meeting | Change the meeting when it moves to a new time. |
meeting:delete:meeting | Remove the Zoom meeting when it is cancelled. |
user:read:user | Know which Zoom account is connected, so we can show it to you and recognise Zoom's notice if you remove the app. |
We only ask for your own Zoom user's data. We never read other people's meetings in your Zoom account.
Remove the app
You can remove the app from either side. Both do the same thing.
From Broker Ops. Go to Settings, then Connections. In the Zoom section, click Disconnect. You will see "Zoom disconnected."
From Zoom. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace. Click Manage, then Added Apps. Find Deal Studio Suite and click Remove. Zoom tells us the app was removed, and we take it from there.
What happens to your data
- Your connection is deleted. We stop using Zoom for you and delete the Zoom connection. When you remove the app in Zoom, this is done within 10 days.
- Zoom links come off your future bookings. Meetings already in your Zoom account stay there, and invitations that were already sent keep their links.

Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Agree on the Zoom connect screen first. Nothing was connected. | Click Connect Zoom again and choose I agree and connect Zoom before signing in. |
| The Zoom sign-in did not finish. Try connecting again. | Connect again, and click Allow on Zoom's permissions screen. |
| Zoom stopped connecting. Sign in again so new meetings get their link. | Click Reconnect in Connections and sign in to Zoom again. |
| What Deal Studio does with Zoom has changed. Connect again and agree to keep using it. | Click Reconnect, read the updated screen, and agree. |
| Deal Studio is finishing setting this up. | Zoom is not ready for your account yet. Write to support and we will tell you when it is. |
| A meeting has no Zoom link. | Check that the meeting type's Where is set to Zoom and that Connections shows your Zoom as connected. |
